Introducing the NUMI Compassion Grant

Nehemiah Urban Ministry Initiatives

As an expression of the Nehemiah Community Foundation’s (NCF) commitment to the faith-based component of the mission of Nehemiah Corporation of America, it has set aside a small fund to address special projects that do not fall within NCF’s standard program priorities or application guidelines.

Nehemiah Urban Ministriy Initiatives is proud to administer and offer this new financial assistance opportunity to qualified nonprofit organizations in the greater Sacramento area through the NUMI Compassion Grant Program.

The mission of the NUMI Compassion Grant Program is to support the compelling programmatic needs of faith-based, cultural and artistic nonprofit organizations through small grants.

GRANTING POLICY:

  • NUMI Compassion Grants will respond to special needs that do not fall within the Nehemiah Community Foundation’s (NCF) standard program priorities, preferred program areas or application guidelines.
  • Subject to ongoing review and approval by the NCF Board Committee, NUMI Compassion Grants are available to both faith-based and secular organizations working in the Greater Sacramento Area.
  • NUMI Compassion Grants Program is prohibited from making grants larger than $5,000 to a single organization in any given year.
  • NUMI Compassion Grants Program recipient organizations must be 501(c)(3) federally tax-exempt agencies with established Boards of Directors—subject to verification by NCF’s Executive Director.

  • Amount of request
  • Current Year’s Budget
  • IRS 501(c)(3) tax exemption letter

  • Political, labor, fraternal or other such activities
  • Marketing activities
  • Promotional merchandise
  • Multi-year grant requests
  • Organizations without IRS 501(c)(3) tax exempt status

C) Grant Evaluation
An organization selected to receive a grant should be notified of NUMI’s decision within six months of NUMI’s receipt of the full grant proposal.

D) Application Deadlines
Grant proposals will be accepted throughout the year with no application deadlines.
